BoP Protocol Initiative Phase II
Phase II of the BoP Protocol Project will focus on the development of a “learning system” that utilizes a global network of BoP Protocol affiliates and resources to expand the number and scope of Protocol field tests. Through this action-oriented approach, the Protocol will be further refined and adapted to corporations’ and other partners’ specific needs.
This two-year project will include five major components:
- Full-scale field tests in 6-8 locations with corporate partners
- Customized Learning Workshops with those partners
- Protocol Refinement and Revision workshops
- Protocol Training and Development initiatives
- Publication of the results
The outcomes of this project include:
- A robust and field tested Protocol that will facilitate a range of companies’ efforts to develop knowledge and capabilities necessary for serving BoP markets and communities.
- Development of a group of experienced Protocol team leaders who have been involved in the educational processes and field testing of the Protocol.
- An understanding of how to engage in the co-design of sustainable business models that will meet the needs of present and future generations of BoP markets.
- Building the capability of investing corporate partners by training team members and enhancing the organizational infrastructure for serving the BoP.
- Case studies and teaching materials for classroom use.
- An action-oriented executive education program for leaders and managers of corporations interested in the opportunities found at the Base of the Pyramid.
